Shark Egg Porcelain Sculpture

This piece was inspired by the fluid forms of Port Jackson Shark eggs. These fascinating structures are so beautiful and can sometimes be found washed up on local beaches, like little sculptures from the deep.

I create each ceramic art piece through a slow process of hand sculpting, slip casting and a variety of textural finishing techniques. My working process is largely intuitive as I experiment with and learn from the beautifully smooth porcelain clay. 

Like the ripples in each ocean tide, no two pieces are the same.
