Staghorn Branches Porcelain Sculptures in Pink
- Description
This collection of three individual sculptures was inspired by the majestic Staghorn coral, standing tall on the reef like a castle, dappled with light, small fish darting between its branches.
I create each ceramic art piece through a slow process of hand sculpting, slip casting and a variety of textural finishing techniques. My working process is largely intuitive as I experiment with and learn from the beautifully smooth porcelain clay. Additions of hand painted natural fibres highlight a contrast between the hard clay and soft textile details, making each piece completely unique.
Like the ripples in each ocean tide, no two pieces are the same.
