Anemone - Porcelain and Glass Sculpture

This sculpture was inspired by the graceful movement and flowing elegance of sea anemones, as they sway in the ocean currents. The translucent glass tentacles mirror the delicate balance between fragility and strength that typifies these marine creatures.

I create each ceramic art piece through a slow process of hand sculpting, slip casting and a variety of textural finishing techniques. My working process is largely intuitive as I experiment with and learn from the beautifully smooth porcelain clay.
