Seadragon Small Porcelain Sculpture in Blue and White
- Description
This signature collection is inspired by the Seadragons who gracefully glide though our costal waters. They are cleverly camouflaged with kelp-like tufts as though sprouting delicate saplings.
These Seadragons display nicely on their own or as a friendly grouping with others in this collection.
I create each ceramic art piece through a slow process of hand sculpting, slip casting and a variety of textural finishing techniques. My working process is largely intuitive as I experiment with and learn from the beautifully smooth porcelain clay. Additions of hand painted natural fibres highlight a contrast between the hard clay and soft textile details, making each piece completely unique.
Like the ripples in each ocean tide, no two pieces are the same.
